Paradise Power Company is located in Taos, New Mexico, the "solar capital of the world." We offer a complete electrical contracting service specializing in solar and renewable electrical system design, sales, installation, maintenance and lifestyle. Our service area is not restricted to any locality though most of our work is in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. We are committed to promoting renewable energy and offer this website as a tool for learning more about renewable energy and acquiring the products and information to get you on renewable energy.
Design
Paradise Power Company designs custom solar electric systems based on power demands, viable resources (solar, wind, or hydro) and budget. The first step of designing a system is determining the power demand or how much electricity is required for the task at hand. This can be done using our load calculation chart. Next is to determine what resources are available (sunshine, wind, or running water) and to what extent they can be used as a reliable power source. Any combination of these three resources can be used to create a sustainable hybrid system. Design of a system is often site specific which involves either a site visit or detailed drawings of the site. At Paradise Power Company we realize that often times people are working on a budget. We can build a base system that has room for expansion with little or no modification, just add panels, batteries, wind, hydro, fuel powered generator or even grid power.

Installation
System installation is the pride and joy of Paradise Power Company. Our quality installations not only encompass the alternative energy generating system. We also do custom wiring (commercial or residential) to provide maximum potential and efficiency from these systems. Paradise Power Company has been installing solar electric systems in New Mexico for over twenty years. With our vast amount of experience we are able to install systems in a very tidy and timely manner. Actually, the heart of most of our systems are turnkey assembled to minimize field installation time. This allows us to have our system up and running on site in less than a day.
Maintenance
After installation, Paradise Power Company does not disappear. We offer full maintenance or even one time maintenance packages even if we did not install your system. We can set you up on a monthly or quarterly service plan. Maintenance programs consists of battery service and regular adjustments. Battery maintenance can be dangerous and a bit nasty so full precautions are recommended. When we service batteries we top off fluid levels, check specific gravity (to measure the overall strength of the battery) and do a full cleaning including acid neutralization. Regular system adjustments consist of changing array angle to suit the suns path and checking all terminals for loose connections. A properly maintained system stays safe and reliable for a lifetime of service.
