This off-grid Earthship in Steamboat Springs, Colorado was lacking in power before we showed up to give it a jolt. The hybrid solar and wind system in this house is tied together with an Outback PS2 System. Power storage is handled with 8 Surette Rolls 6-CS-25-PS 820 amp hour batteries. The renewable power comes from 8 BP 175 solar watt modules on a UniRac pole top mount rack and a Whisper 200 wind generator on a 30’ tower. For emergency backup there is a Kohler 12RES generator run on natural gas.
